Monday, September 10, 2007 By: Kenny Rodriguez
Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z has announced the opening of a new 40/40 sports bar in Las Vegas, Nevada – marking his third club franchise following locations in New York City and Atlantic City, NJ.
The Brooklyn rapper says the 24,000 square-foot sports bar will be housed in the Palazzo Hotel, located on the Las Vegas Strip, and will include 24-karat gold and platinum floors, five VIP lounges, and 85 plasma-screen televisions.
“We represent what the entertainment capital of the world is all about, it’s only natural we open here,” Jay-Z said in a press statement.
Construction, estimated at $20 million, is expected to be completed on Dec. 27.
Future franchises are also scheduled to open in Tokyo, Japan, and Macau, China, in 2008.
The 40/40 club is co-owned by Jay-Z, rapper and president of Def Jam Recordings, and Baseline Studios founder Juan Perez.
