Q-Tip, Common Tour, Plan To Form Rap Group

Common and Q-Tip are hitting the road in a joint tour, and in a recent interview, the A Tribe Called Quest rapper announced that they plan on recording a group album.
The two emcees are touring in the third annual 2K Sports Bounce Tour, as well as in support of the Stones Throw compilation, “B-Ball Zombie War,” which features new music by Talib Kweli, MF Doom, J Dilla, Madlib, and Percee P.
Q-Tip recently told XXL magazine that he and Common are teaming up to form a group called “The Standard,” although they have not begun recording and the album details are unclear.
However, Q-Tip did mention that they are releasing an LP, and that he will be handling most of its production, and hit producer Kanye West will also contribute a few beats.
Meanwhile, Tip’s solo album, “The Renaissance,” has been pushed back to early 2008, according to a press release from Universal/Motown. It was initially scheduled to drop this month.
