Jay-Z To Air ‘American Gangster’ Songs On TV

Just in time for the release of Jay-Z’s album “American Gangster,” out in stores today, the Brooklyn rapper will appear on “VH1 Storytellers” to perform a few songs off of his new CD.
The hour-long episode, titled “VH1 Storytellers: Jay-Z – Life of an American Gangster,” will feature a brief concert with Jay performing eight songs and backed by a twelve-piece band.
As part of the show’s format, Jay-Z will also explain the inspiration behind certain “American Gangster” tracks.
The episode was filmed on Oct. 24 at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn, NY, where Jay-Z went through a few tracks including “Blue Magic,” “I Know,” and “Fallen” – although it is unconfirmed which songs will air on TV.
“VH1 Storytellers: Jay-Z” airs on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 9pm EST.
