T.I. Hopes To Waive Bond Rules For Holiday
Thursday, November 8, 2007 By: Kenny Rodriguez
T.I.’s lawyers filed a motion on Tuesday asking for an exception to the rapper’s house arrest rules, stemming from federal weapons charges.
While the Atlanta-based rapper is currently confined in his Jonesboro, Georgia home on $3 million bond, a judge has ordered a three-visitor limit between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Additionally, the names of any visitors must be submitted for approval beforehand.
T.I. is hoping to waive this edict during the Thanksgiving holiday in order to host a family dinner.
If the judge grants T.I.’s request, the rapper is obligated to pay for additional guards to monitor his home, and he will be prohibited from drinking any alcoholic beverages.
T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr., was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 13., and charged with possession of three unregistered machine guns and two silencers, as well as for possessing firearms while being a convicted felon.
If convicted on both counts, he may face a combined 20 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
