Shackled T.I. Holding Down Less Fortunate
Tuesday, November 20, 2007 By: Michael Ivey
Despite his limited physical range Atlanta emcee/entrepreneur/actor T.I. and The Grand Hustle K.I.N.G. Foundation November 22 hosts a Thanksgiving feast for the less fortunate from 6-9 pm at Club Crucial in Atlanta. In addition the crew will donate four hundred turkeys to four hundred families in need via the Atlanta Parks & Recreation Center.
T.I., on house arrest awaiting his trial over federal weapons charges, also helped generate $150,000 for this year’s Hosea Williams Feed The Hungry Thanksgiving Day Dinner Event in Georgia. Hosea Williams Feed The Hungry and Homeless was founded in 1971 by Civil Rights activists Rev. Hosea and Juanita T. Williams in 1971 and has since sought to “rescue, restore and re-stabilize people in crisis by providing for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs preventing the cycle of poverty through fostering, empowering, enabling self-sufficiency and building a caring community of humanity worldwide.”
T.I. is working on his sixth album, tentatively titled ‘Paper Trail;’ the last two (‘King,’ 2006; ‘T.I. VS T.I.P.,’ 2007) stand as the first hip hop records in their respective years to reach platinum status.
