I think that this whole situation with pimp c is crazy and i think that drugs wasn't a factor because i don't think that he does that many drugs because i don't think that hes a drug doer.i think he is a good artist and i also think that his music and his rapping is crazy and i think that he is going to be missed a lot and my heart goes out to his wife and kids. I am deeply heart broken to hear this news and have followed ugk's music for years........wow i can't believe that it seems like yesterday they broadcasted that they freed him from jail.........now he has been taken from the family and people that loved and cherished him in every way. I was born and raised in brooklyn new york and when i moved to atlanta in 1994 i had no idea about sounthern rap. By me being a "hip hop head" i quickly embrassed southern hip hop. Ugk was one the groups that had the sick beats and dope lyrics that just made me drop my head straight in my lap!!!! i use to visit back home and people would say "who you listen to?" i would say without a doubt "you don't know nothing about this". This is by far, the most tragic news to shock the hip-hop world in a long time since the death of 2pac, notorious b.i.g, and eazy-e in the 1990's. I literally shed tears when i saw a news report that pimp c of ugk, my #1 favorite rap group of all time, was found dead from unknown causes in his hotel room yesterday. I'm from san antonio,texas, and coming from texas, i grew up listening to ugk as a kid back in the day when they were still underground and practically unknown by the rest of the world at the time. Ugk/underground kingz had a tremendous impact and inspiration on my life, standing for a positive cause, letting people know what was really going on not just on the streets of texas, but america, and that something had to be done, similar to what nwa stood for. They were also the first hip-hop group that originated their own brand of hip-hop, which they called "country rap". It combined various elements of southern music such as soul, funk, groove, and country with rap/hip-hop. Ugk stood for what is real, and they stood for the underground community they connected with so deeply, and i'm so glad that they finally got the recognition they deserve from the mainstream. I wanna send out my love and condolences to all of pimp c's family and friends, including bun-b, for i can't imagine what they're going through right now.
