Kanye West Blesses Madonna's Warner Swan Song

Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam Records chart topper Kanye West, up for eight Grammies this year, will reportedly co-star on "The Beat Goes On," a record due on Madonna's final Warner Bros. LP, 'Licorice.'

The album, reportedly out in April, will be Madonna's eleventh studio set. Her previous ten have moved at least 4 million units each worldwide. Kanye West's platinum selling 'Graduation' (September) album made it three consecutive commercial/critical stamps for the producer behind Jay-Z's lauded 'Blueprint.' The flamboyant trend setter is nominated for Album of the Year, Best Rap Album and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, among other categories.

Madonna's CD/DVD project, 'Confessions Tour,' is nominated in the Best Long Form Video category alongside R.Kelly. She has also inked a reported 10 year/$120 million deal with Artist Nation that also makes the controversial sex symbol a shareholder in the company. Artist Nation, an arm of California based concert promoter Live Nation, is a one-stop provider for an entertainers' live show ticketing, merchandise, recorded music, fan websites, broadcast/digital media rights, sponsorship, and marketing. It is rumored that Timbaland, Pharrell and Akon may also work on 'Licorice.'

Can someone tell me why madonna hasn't retired yet? in my opinion she expired a long time ago, and seems to be clinging onto other artists like kanye in this instance to keep her name/fame at the top and appeal to the masses. For someone who has been in the music industry for as long as she has, i'd love to see her put out an album that she's produced/written by herself. Prince continues to do it.. So why can't she?
