Kidz In The Hall Endorses Obama with Hip Hop Anthem
Tuesday, December 11, 2007 By: Michael Ivey
Duck Down Records’ own Chicago duo Kidz In The Hall have a new song called “Work to Do” that will serve as an exclusive anthem for Illinois Senator Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.
“What many fail to realize is that one person can control his or her own destiny, it just requires due diligence and the ability to fight adversity,” says Kidz In The Hall’s emcee, Naledge. “I happen to think that Barack Obama embodies everything that is promising for the future of our nation and represents the hope I sought to speak on in the song.”
“Work to Do” is produced by Double O (Kidz In The Hall) in association with past collaborator, vocal arranger/musician, Rob Murat. It employs multiple vocalists on the chorus in order to “embellish the four part harmony that was already kinda in there,” according to Double O. The track samples an older song of the same or similar title.
“This song could not be a better fit,” says Matt Marcus, President of the group’s Major League Entertainment imprint. “Work to Do” can be heard, free of charge, Here. Visit Here to watch the new Barack Obama presidential campaign hip hop anthem being produced.
Though the full list of presidential primary states and dates is subject to change, Democratic and Republican hopefuls begin January 3 2008, in Iowa, their bid, as voters decide who will represent each party in the actual election. Barack Obama, recently endorsed by media mogul Oprah Winfrey, is, primarily, up against New York Senator Hillary Clinton and former vice presidential nominee, North Carolina Senator John Edwards.
