Tampa, Florida is the location of the new H3 Enterprises Inc. Hip Hop Soda Shop, and it’s recent grand opening was distracted by an altercation between Jim Jones’ camp and Cassidy’s security.
Warner Bros. A&R director Jim Jones and Dipset/Def Jam act Juelz Santana were in attendance but reportedly vacated the shop’s VIP section when Cassidy, entourage in tow, arrived there. Jones’ people then returned and a verbal spat ensued between them and Cassidy’s associates, after which Jones and friends left again; Dipset, including Jones, reportedly returned minutes later, at which time Jones verbally engaged a Cassidy guard, then, reportedly, the guard was knocked out cold with a full bottle of champagne by a Jones associate.
Dr. Ben Chavis, H3 Enterprises Inc. rep and Russell Simmons’ partner in the Hip Hop Summit Action Network, climbed the stage in the shop’s 11,000 square-foot- space to condemn the violence and relax patrons.
