Joe Budden To Release ‘Mood Muzik 3: The Album’

Saturday, December 22, 2007
By: Michael Ivey

Joe BuddenThe highly anticipated ‘Mood Muzik 3’ just put Joe Budden back in tune with his audience and Amalgam Digital plans February 26 to drop a refurbished version of the mix album.

“Amalgam understands our vision, as we do theirs, so this will be first of many ventures to come,” says Joe. “We’re prepping for a big year…are you in the mood yet?????” ‘M.M.3: The Album’ will contain entire versions of songs like “All Of Me,” minus DJ OnPoint’s ad-libs, and serves as an appetizer for ‘Padded Room,’ Joe’s first actual retail album since 2003. ‘M.M.3,’ AKA ‘Mood Muzik 3.5,’ features two bonus tracks and is available at www.amalgamdigital.com.

Both ‘M.M.3: The Album’ and ‘Padded Room’ will be distributed exclusively by Amalgam Digital. The label, established in 2006, is known for reviving interest in obscured acts like The Juggaknots and Aceyalone, in addition it provides a more intimate outlet for established acts like Jim Jones and AesopRock.

"Joe’s rather intimate, reflective music fits right in with Amalgam Digital’s mission to create a local record shop feel in cyber-space: “ The consumer gets a friendly, warm, and rather unique shopping experience in cyber space somewhat reminiscent of walking into the traditional specialty record shop and buying music on a physical format from the people who understand the music and it’s culture as opposed to downloading music from a giant, cold, sterile e-commerce network that offers millions of titles in all genres that range across the board with pages plagued by forced advertising leaving the consumer with a crowded feeling and no idea where to start.”

Joe’s self titled Def Jam debut (2003), propelled by the anthem “Pump It Up,” reportedly sold upwards of 500,000 units. Discomfort with Def Jam management, specifically label head Jay-Z, lead Joe earlier this year back to shopping independent music. ‘M.M.3’ finds Joe, for the first time on wax, explicitly dissing Jay-Z (“Talk to Em”).

Please, joe butter didn't put up numbers when he first came out and jay wasn't president. So what is this clown complaining about now. Yet he wants to blame jay again. One hit wonder man needs to sit his a@@ down some place. Music is not where it was 10 years ago so jay is to blame for everybodies mistakes. Joe can blame jay all he wants but nobody cares. Hint, hint, hint, ll! blaming jay is the new marketing plan. So we'll give this bum 2 points for blaming jay than he goes down hill from there. This joe buddens suck!!!

Don't blame jay, joey. Blame yourself for staying away from the game for so long. Nobody cares about you either.

Joey is a beast, the next best after jay-z just because he hasn't had the longevity or success yet, but if he pulls it off he'll be better than jay...but joe is caught in blaming def jam instead of himself, ghostface never complains about jay and the label, he just keeps it moving because he knows his music isn't geared toward today's mass audience so he knows what to expect in sales. Joe needs to realize that if he made his career the priority and being a success the priority then his "padded walls"/"the growth"/"mood muzik the album" would've been dropped. To a big extent he has to blame himself and not jay. Free's album dropped, beans dropped, gunnaz dropped, no matter the sales they managed to get it out after a while, free last album was in 03, same year joey dropped, only difference is free stayed making himself heard so people weren't like where the F*ck is he. Budden disappeared, but he's still dope.

Budden is that n*gga. Im not going to come out saying who i think will win, cuz jay is nice. Just know budden is not to be underestimated. He already murdered ransom like 3 times and royce. Budden may not have been main stream for a min, but his underground game is sick. I can't wait to hear this and jay's reply. Btw . . . Get off jay's tip.

What the F*ck are dudes talking about this bullsh*t "stop blaming jay", there was no blaming of jay in the article you fools. It just said there were problems between the two and it lead to his release from the label, which it did. Get your mouths off jays tip. Dope article, looking forward to some new sh*t by budden to help the wait for padded room go by quicker, mm3 is best sh*t out this year, dont hate!

......its really a insult to jay's lyrical skills and overall talent to even consider joey on any level..

What is wrong with you i love jay z people. First of all you obviously don't know jack about the buisness of music. The only hip hop artist that came out from def jam that got promo was kanye and jay. For those of you who think that jay is the reason kanye even got signed to the roc need to listen to cheers to the roc. Joe isn't blaming jay but stating facts! facts: jay z is not responsible for none of the hits that came out of their since he got their. Mariah(jd and la) rihanah, neyo (la) kanye (50 cent and kanye). I mean don't get me wrong, i like jay z as an artist, but as for running a label...he needed dame as much as dame needed him. Say what you want about joeys decison to talk about what happened but never try to discredit his skills as an artist. He is hands down the most lyrically gifted artist out right now. For the people who think blaiming jay is some marketing plan. Redman, luda, joey, beans, ll and others aren't saying the samething for nothing. It's called facts. The next time you blindly support jay z go find some.

I am a fan of jay z and joe budden and i do feel like joey is being a female dog about it. Jay tried to put joey out and the public didn't respond. What do you think gangsta party and stuntin was? jay z is a fan of hip hop and knows what hip hop is and he knows joe is the truth. He has been quoted saying that joey is the truth. I don't think joe budden is better than jay but after that he is right there. Like he said he suffers from wrong thinking and if you believe all of his sh*t then you are thinking like him. I respect the way budden expresses his struggles on wax and his lyrical ability but that isn't going to make me manic depressed.
