Itunes Big Ups Duck Downs’ Ruckus
Tuesday, January 8, 2008 By: Michael Ivey
Brooklyn hard-core funny man Sean Price, AKA Ruck of Helta Skelta, sidles onto Itunes’ Top 10 Rap Albums of 2007 list via his last solo LP, ‘Jesus Price Supastar.’
“My album came out in early 2007 so there were a lot of other records that could have come out throughout the course of the year and mine could have been forgotten, but it clearly shows that my sound is respected in the game right now," says Price. ‘Supastar’ finds the industry vet spewing nonsensical, slyly lucid bars over beats by 9th Wonder, Masse and Mo$$.
Price plans this year to drop his final solo album, ‘Mic Tyson,’ plus duets with Helta Skelta partner Monsta Man Rocko (‘D.I.R.T.’ AKA Da Incredible Rap Team) and Detroit’s Guilty Simpson (‘Random Axe,’ produced entirely by Black Milk) through Duck Down Records.
Price will also executive produce for the first time his artist Ruste Juxx’s "Indestructible" debut.
