Game Almost Done With LP, Help From Dr. Dre
Wednesday, January 23, 2008 By: Kenny Rodriguez
According to the Game’s DJ, Nu Jerzey Devil, the Compton rapper’s upcoming album, “LAX,” is almost done – and the word is, Dr. Dre will be pitching in on production.
“[Dr. Dre] dropped some stuff off,” said Nu Jerzey Devil, who is signed to the Game’s Black Wall Street label.
“But I’m not sure if Game did anything to them yet.”
Despite being the Game’s mentor, producer Dr. Dre was missing from his 2006 album, “The Documentary,” due to a fallout with former cohorts 50 Cent and G-Unit.
The Game hopes to release “LAX” in the spring, and like many rappers before him, he is already hinting at an early retirement from hip-hop.
“He’s fed up with all the BS,” Devil added. “Unless something tremendous happens with this album, he’ll probably fall back and play the executive role.”
“But this album is sounding better than his first two. He’s at his peak. I’ma do everything in my power to keep him going. I think everything will be good.”
According to reports, the album will feature cameos by Nas, Lil Wayne, and Akon, as well as production by Cool & Dre, Scott Storch, and Dr. Dre.
