Lil Wayne has officially been charged for felony drug and weapons possession after DEA agents arrested him last week in Arizona.
The 25-year-old rapper, born Dwayne Michael Carter, and several others were pulled over on Tuesday at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint, 70 miles east of Yuma, Arizona.
A spokeswoman for the Drug Enforcement Administration said that a canine unit alerted agents to the presence of illegal drugs on the bus.
Police discovered nearly 4 ounces of marijuana, over an ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy, and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.
Officials also found a .40-caliber pistol registered to Carter, who has a concealed weapons permit in the state of Florida.
On Friday, Carter was charged with possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Two of Carter’s associates were also arrested, although it is unclear whether they have been formally charged.
Carter is due back in court on Feb. 12 for a preliminary hearing.
