Judge Denies Foxy Brown’s Travel Request
Wednesday, January 30, 2008 By: Kenny Rodriguez
A judge has denied Foxy Brown’s request to get out of jail early, as the Brooklyn rapper hoped to go to California for an ear examination and the repair of an electronic ear implant.
Judge Melissa Jackson, of the State Supreme Court, ruled last week that Brown will not be allowed to go to Los Angeles for the medical exam.
Brown, born Inga Marchand, first disclosed her hearing problems during a court appearance in 2004.
In 2005, Brown held a press conference to reveal she was suffering from sudden sensorineurial hearing loss in both ears, and that at one point, she needed someone to tap out beats on her shoulder while she was in a recording session.
The 29-year-old rapper was sentenced in 2007 to a year in jail for violating probation, following a guilty plea from a misdemeanor assault charge stemming back to 2004.
Her lawyer, Laura M. Dilimetin, had no comment on the ruling.
