Bubba Sparxxx Ushers In New South w/Koch Records
Wednesday, February 13, 2008 By: Michael Ivey
Georgia rapper Bubba Sparxxx release’s his fourth studio album this summer through a venture with major distributor Koch Records and his own label, New South Entertainment.
“We’re thrilled to be working with him,” says General Manager of KOCH Records Alan Grunblatt. “He continually surprises his fans with his diversity and comes out with hit after hit.” The man behind “Ms. New Booty” (‘The Charm,’ 2006) and “Ugly” (‘Dark Days, Bright Nights,’ 2001) is through myspace.com soliciting beats, show dates and artists in need of studio time. Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam rapper Tru-Life, pioneer of the “New New York” movement, counts Sparxxx as an alley in the effort to bring authenticity and regional unity back to the American hip hop industry.
At press time there is no date or title for Sparxxx’s next LP, but new material, including the link to a free mixtape download, ‘Survive Till Ya Thrive’ w/ DJ Burn One, is posted at http://www.MySpace.com/BubbaSparxxx. The Caucasian rapper first hit as mega-producer Timbaland’s flagship artist on Beat Club. Since “Ms. New Booty” tallied up big ringtone and BDS numbers Bubba Sparxxx has been relatively absent from the public eye..
