Vast Aire Chucks The Duece This Summer

 Cannibal Ox front-man Vast Aire July 24 drops his sophomore LP, ‘Dueces Wild,’ which includes cameos by Camp Lo’s Gecchi Suede (“The Dynamic Duo”), Copywrite (“Give Me That Mic”) and Genesis (Graveyard Shift). Vast Aire positions “U” before “E” in the albums’ title because the underground emcee feels he has paid his dues and produced the best material of his career.
“This project is about the power of the number 2 and the truth and the balance of the Ying-Yang,” says Vast Aire. ‘The number 2 influences many facets of our lives; this my sophomore solo-LP (second solo-LP), your Mom and dad are “two,” you and the love of your life are “two,” life and death, good and bad, night and day, love and hate are all interrelated with the number “two”.’
Madlib’s brother Oh No produces a track on ‘Dueces Wild.’ Cannibal Ox partner Vordul Mega lends vocals to “Mecca And The Ox,” produced by Pete Rock. The duo’s 2002 debut ‘Cold Vein’ was the world’s introduction to Vast Aire. His debut solo opus ‘Look Mom…No Hands’ followed two years later and Vast Aire keeps it coming; two ‘Way Of The Fist’ mixtapes and collaborative albums with High & Mighty, DJ Mighty Mi and Karniege lead to ‘Dueces Wild’ this July via One Records.
‘Dueces Wild’ is principally produced by Vast Aire’s childhood friend from Brooklyn, Melodius Monk, a singer and lyricist in his own right. The album contains a “retro-sonic/alternative Trip-Hop feel,” according to Vast Aire.
