50 Cent: Young Buck “No Longer in the Group G-Unit”
Tuesday, April 8, 2008 By: Mike Ivey Jr.
50 Cent reportedly Monday ousted Young Buck from his G-Unit group (50 Cent, Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks), via Hot 97’s Miss Jones in The Morning. "You can take this as official notice right here: Pretty much you can say Young Buck is no longer in the group G-unit but signed to G-unit as a solo artist," proclaimed the mogul. Young Buck recently voiced displeasure in Internet interviews over allegedly not being paid any royalties since he has been signed with G-Unit Records.
“I as Bucks manager and as former President of G-Unit Records wants to make clear - that rumor is false, Young Buck has cleared over $10 million from working under 50's and my guidance," said Sha Money XL in a statement released last week. 50 also chimed in, stating that each G-Unit member who has released an album has cleared the $10 million mark.
“I didn't say they have $10 million, I said they've seen $10 million,” said 50. “What they did with their paper, I don't know." 50 added that Young Buck only made claims of short pay to the media and actually backs off of those claims in their private talks.
“They're like my younger brothers, but they'll do shit for attention," said 50 Cent. Young Buck does not appear on G-Units’ latest track, “Grimey.” His third solo album, ‘Product Of The South,’ is reportedly due out this summer. ‘Buck The World’ (2007) debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200; ‘Straight Outta Cashville,’ Young Bucks’ freshman LP, also debuted at #3 and later soared to platinum success on the heels of “Let Me In” and “Shorty Wanna Ride.”
