50 Cent, Yayo Sued By Mom For Teen Assault
Thursday, April 10, 2008 By: Kenny Rodriguez
If one woman gets her way, 50 Cent may have to dish out some major cash on behalf of Tony Yayo.
The mother of James Rosemond, the teenager who was allegedly assaulted by Tony Yayo last year, has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against not only him, but the entire G-Unit and Interscope record label.
The teen – whose father, Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond, runs Czar Entertainment and manages G-Unit rival The Game – was reportedly roughed up by Tony Yayo and several associates in March 2007, when he was spotted wearing a T-shirt with the logo of his dad’s company.
“It’s hard to believe that a 14-year-old boy walking on East 25th Street, at six in the evening, was attacked by four adult males just because of the shirt he was wearing,” said Richard Reich, the teen’s lawyer.
Tony Yayo, born Marvin Bernard, pled guilty to harassment in criminal court and received a mandatory 10 hours of community service this past February.
Cynthia Reed, the teen’s mother, is citing several names in her civil lawsuit – including G-Unit rapper 50 Cent, who was not present during the incident.
Benjamin Brafman, 50’s lawyer, commented that Reed is simply looking for “a quick payday.”
