Former No Limit soldier and Concentration Camp inmate Max Minelli, with KOCH Records, May 13 releases ‘The Remedy’ mixtape to capitalize on Minelli’s growing indie movement.
“In the course of my career I’ve had tremendous success with artists from Louisiana such as B.G., Master P, and C-Murder,” says KOCH Records General Manager Alan Grunblatt. “I think Max Minelli could be the next in that line.” Minelli’s last solo album, ‘Get Served,’ sold over 10,000 copies independently according to KOCH. His next LP will be distributed by KOCH late this year. ‘The Remedy’ features production by Happy Perez (Master P, Young Bleed, Baby Bash, Chingo Bling, Lil’ Boosie) who reportedly will produce much of Minelli’s untitled KOCH debut.
Baton Rouge rep Max Minelli joined Concentration Camp at age thirteen; the group subsequently signed with No Limit Records and proceeded to sell a reported 100,000 units. On partnering with indie powerhouse KOCH, Minelli says simply, “I feel like they believe in me, like I believe in myself.” His first single, “U Gotta Luv Me Baby,” which is almost at 150,000 Myspace plays, will reach radio in the coming weeks.
