Timbaland is ASCAP Songwriter of The Year

For over ten years VA product Timbaland has refused to be limited by genres, and this week his contributions to popular music earn him the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Award.
Almost 2,000 members of the music industry and recording community Wednesday were on hand at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles to watch Timbaland get rewarded for work on nine decorated records including, "Make Me Better" (Fabolous), "Ice Box" (Omarion), "Give It To Me" (Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado), "My Love," "Summer Love/Set The Mood "Until The End of Time," and "What Goes Around...Comes Around" (Justin Timberlake). The producer behind Jay-Z’s new track “Ain’t I” has twice taken home the Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year award.
will.i.am was also recognized, as Fergie’s "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Fergalicious" earned ASCAP pop awards. Beyonce’s "Irreplaceable," co-produced by Beyonce and Stargate and written by Beyonce and Ne-Yo, joins Nelly Furtado’s “Say It Right” as the top most performed records of 2007. Ludacris, Akon, Keyshia Cole, and The Dream also earned multiple ASCAP awards.
