Witness To JMJ’s Murder Sent To Prison
Monday, April 28, 2008 By: Kenny Rodriguez
A man who witnessed the murder of Jam Master Jay – and was once suspected of assisting in the homicide – has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for an unrelated string of armed robberies.
Ronald Washington was present when Jam Master Jay, of Run-DMC fame, was fatally shot in a Queens recording studio in October 2002.
But according to federal prosecutors – Washington was not only there, he also allegedly brandished a gun and made people lay on the floor while an unidentified gunman shot Jam Master Jay at close-range.
Washington, 40, has since denied any involvement in the murder.
Jay, born Jason Mizzell, was 37 years old at the time. His murder remains unsolved.
