Lil Wayne Tops Charts, LP Postponed Again
Monday, April 28, 2008 By: Kenny Rodriguez
Lil Wayne topped the Billboard charts for the first time with his latest single, “Lollipop,” but fans will have to wait another month for his long-awaited album, “Tha Carter III.”
“Lollipop” became his first #1 hit on the Billboard’s Hot 100 this past week – although the New Orleans rapper has appeared on the charts over 20 times since 1999, mostly from guest verses on other artists’ songs.
Meanwhile, his highly anticipated album, “Tha Carter III,” has been pushed back yet again. It will now hit stores on June 10.
According to unconfirmed reports, it will feature cameos by Jay-Z, Eminem, Juelz Santana, Busta Rhymes, and the Game.
