Immortal Technique Gears Up For New Album

Politically-charged rapper Immortal Technique is gearing up for his next album, “The 3rd World,” breaking a five-year hiatus since his last LP.

The Harlem-born emcee announced he has teamed up with notable lyricists Chino XL, Ras Kass, Crooked I, and Poison Pen, as well as producer DJ Green Lantern.

Technique, who also serves as president of indie label Viper Records, is still working on his long-delayed project, “The Middle Passage,” initially slated for 2005.

According to reports, it may finally be released as a two-disc album later this year.

Meanwhile, “The 3rd World” hits stores on June 24.
