Tha first muhF*ckah to say this joint is
mad crazy......9th wonder yet again
blessing us with that tight as ever
production.......justus league 4 eva fam
!!
Yo this track is hot. Yo who this chic
baby sham? she was spitting fire, had
the best verse to me and her flow and
delivery was on point.
Ill track. The energy on all three
vocals blend lovely with 9th's melodic
production. Shorty at the end put her
foot up in it.
9 outta 10. Missing one cause i dont
like the lyrics too much. Producer talk:
yall like yall music muddy and distorted
up top....i understand that, but i like
to have my shyt crispy...when i listen
to t.i.'s king, he blended down south
production with up top production and it
sounded all over the place to me. I aint
like that. On the mpc and protools you
can clean up the sample.....why dont
yall?
Sounds sloppy.....i really think thats
one of the reason cats really aint
digging up top music too hard. Sounds
too distorted and grungy. I was thinking
about copping tracks from my patnas in
va because i "cant" make mine sound
grungy like that (not because i "cant"
but because i coundnt stand it, would
have to fix it). Sounds too vintage.
Even in a digital age theres room for
soul. Northern joints don’t sound griddy
cuz producers need to clean up samples
in protools. Ever heard of tubes,
compressors and filters. The best
production programs made today tries to
recreate some of that old motown sound.
Every track shouldn’t have to sound like
it was made on acid to be hot or be made
for the club. My point is magnified by
the fact that this track was made by a
down south dude that has a great
appreciation for “music”. Music is an
expression of life and life is far from
clean and mostly gritty, grimy and at
times distorted, somewhere in this mix
you will find their lies the “soul”.
Soul music touches those sore spots,
those things that you bury deep in your
heart, those emotions that you want to
express, those passions that make you
feel deep, those feelings that make your
hair stand on end. I like generic
“clean” joints like ti, but theres
something deeper in soul, either you get
it or you don’t. Theres no middle
ground.
Lol pretty good track. 9th wonder with a
hot beat as usuall
Seeing as how i was born in east nc,
raised in the triangle, and earned my
stripes in the triad (nc talk), i am not
surprised by the incredible amount of
talent that resides in north carolina.
I'm actually glad that nc has not been
musically exploited like so many other
regions. For the sake of preserving the
uniqueness and importance of hip-hop
culture that has caused hip-hop music
music to exist for three decades, we
still need a certain degree of
unfiltered samples, tracks produced on
the 808 as well as protools and artists
who know how to balance the need to pay
the rent with the desire to make good
music. We as listeners deserve the best
- and there are still artists such as
the justus league, ras kass, o.c., etc.
Who are giving us the best.
Yeah i know cats like to use
compressors, one of my cats likes to use
them on his drums so they sound "less"
electronic sounding. But i dont know
err'since i was small that was the goal,
to have that snare snapping and the bass
deep. Now equipment has reached the
state of the "holy grail" of
clarity...and as soon as they get
there...its like cats want the raspy
sound again. Dawg..i get it, raspy
sounding samples like headbanger by
epmd, red, das 'nem are still like my
favorite type beats. Idk, maybe im just
lazy and dont want to compress
"err'thang" just to get that feel. I
like the sound of soft synths and shyt
like that, plug ins keep my joints
sounding wet....kidda like that
"cocaina" song buss did above this one,
dre has that things sounding
crispy...yaknow. Eventhough he prolly
played that piano himself, he left it
sounding wet. Ohh...btw i aint knocking
it bruh, i was just asking another
opinion.
Hot 9th track i live in the triangle too
man the heart of greensboro nc
Just so y'all know since y'all keep
asking, the chick baby sham been around
for years (check busta's "when disaster
strikes" track 7 "we could take it
outside" she's on there spittin' as hard
as rah diggah and she could best her
too.
Hot track. 9th kills this as usual.
Yall doing my girl wrong her name is
baby sharn, we when to school together
at wssu, along with the other members of
the allies. So king james thats not the
female that you thinking of. I really
hope that the allies break because they
really have talent, check out first
album.
Lovin 9th all the way, feelin ya'll
about the dirty vs. Clean
production..now that there are so many
options it's good to hear both ends of
the spectrum... From nc 2 la-> hear ya
on that..these nc heads have some of the
illest balance in hip hop today.jl
Trippy track..9th wonder is trying to do
something with the beats and stuff i
see. Cool flows..track was better than
the flows for sure. 6.7/10
./cityboysound
Always a fan of 9th'swork. Never quit
dis work. So hype.
Tight track from 9th as always... But
the lyrics so-so... Would've like to
hear l.e.g.a.c.y. & o-dash on though
Yo that chic baby sharn is mad hot! i
heard her music on
/the80sbabyent and yall
spelled her name wrong...she sounds alot
older now. Novej is extremely talented
with the lyrics and the production
too...just showin love!
Track is bangin. This track does sound a
bit gritty but at the same time that's
that original flava that made hip hop
connect with that old school sh*t. Some
cats make tracks that's clear and clean
and it's room for that. All of it just
needs it's time in the arena's spotlight
... Know what i mean. Ez
